OSD Disconnected Template Creation Fails

I've been experimenting with LANDESK disconnected provisioning templates with LDMS 9.6 SP2. During the USB creation process it would consistently fail. It didn't matter if it was done from the core server or a remote console. I reviewed many of the related community posts and implemented what others had done to resolve the issue with no success (Create disconnected template error in 9.6).

It was failing when trying to copy the image files to the USB drive.

The last two messages in the provisioning.log file were:

INFO PActionOffline 7/22/2015 9:02:07 AM     : Copying imagefile to USB drive.

ERROR POfflineProvisiong 7/22/2015 9:02:07 AM     : Could not process Template

I gave up and called support. I learned that this is a know bug and they sent me this component patch:

LD96-CP_BASE-2015-0706.exe

After applying the component patch the disconnected template was created successfully!

A few interesting things I noticed (after the drive was created) was that it did not copy the split .SWMx files I had previously created.

My initial WIM was about 6gb and others had issues with files that large on FAT32 so the recommendation was to split them into 3gb chunks using imagex /split.

It copied the initial Win7Ent.swm to the root of the drive, but didn't copy Win7Ent2.swm file.

I copied the Win7Ent2.swm file manually to the root and tested dropping the image successfully.

I also noticed that HII action was referenced in the offline_task.xml file, but HII repository was not copied to the drive. That action failed.
